Mokujin is the only character not to be featured in any of the opening scenes of Tekken 5. Dark clouds move across the sky, a small beam of light hits Mokujin's nose, and a small leaf sprouts up from Mokujin's nose. Because of Jinpachi's death, Mokujin becomes lifeless once more and falls to the ground. In Mokujin's Tekken 5 ending, Mokujin defeats Jinpachi, and Jinpachi turns into dust aftwerwards. With the awakening of another powerful evil entity (Jinpachi Mishima), Mokujin has come to life once more. After Jin Kazama defeated Ogre in The King of Iron Fist Tournament 3, Mokujin grew lifeless once more. The setting of Mokujin's ending is Forrest Law's second stage, where the Mokujin the player won the game with (according to the costume selection, including Tetsujin) is leading a traditional kung fu routine with at least 40 other Mokujin.

Mokujin, a wooden combat training doll made from a 2,000 year-old oak tree, was awakened when Ogre, the God of Fighting, was released. In this aspect, mastering Mokujin requires knowledge of the other Tekken characters' movesets. He has no fighting style of his own, and instead swaps between the fighting styles of the other characters. He is a wooden training dummy who comes to life at the presence of powerful evil.
